We can help you organize exciting summer activities such as paragliding over the peaks, or mountain biking; taking the chair lift with your bike, you charge down steep mountain paths designed to test the nerves, or alternatively take a more peaceful descent through the trees round Lake Geneva. For the courageous, there is the fabulous Fantasticable, a flying fox from mountain to mountain, so you zoom along at up to 100 km/hour over the valley, a long way below. Or charge through the rapids, white water rafting in the clear, swift waters of La Dranse. Hike or climb the mountain faces, or trek up the tracks on a pony.

There are mountain guides who specialise in the alpine flora and fauna, starting tours at the crack of dawn for the complete experience. Or we can suggest gentle walks, local outdoor markets or picturesque landscapes for painters and photographers. The Vallée d’Abondance is also notorious for its gastronomic restaurants, and it is easy to while away many an hour on their terraces. Chalet Châtelet is in the mountains but close to Lake Geneva with all it has to offer, including spending a day on the splendid old sailing barge, La Savoie, that in the distant past used to transport goods from the stone quarries at Meillerie and St. Gingolfe to Geneva. Surrounded by spectacular lakeside or mountain scenery you can benefit from the therapeutic experience of the thermal waters of the four spas in our region, with hammams, saunas and massage treatments. We have a wonderful aquatic centre with swimming pool in the valley, which also has spa facilities and treatments.

Our region is called ‘Le Chablais’ with fascinating ancient historical buildings, such as the Chateau d’Avully that has witnessed many fierce battles and border disputes. The medieval village of Yvoire and the Château de Chillon, both on Lake Geneva, can be reached by road or ferryboat on the lake. Just 5 minutes from the chalet, you can benefit from guided tours of our local 13th century Abbaye d’Abondance with its cloisters and old murals. We are able to quote for CHAUFFEUR-DRIVEN DAY EXCURSIONS for 4-6 people to various wonderful places, such as Gruyère castle, just over an hour from the chalet. Yvoire with its gardens, Le Jardin des Cinq Sens, is another favourite destination, or swimming in Lake Montriond near Morzine; there is a long list, all within easy reach.
