Chalet Châtelet

Bonjour! Pascal and Suzanne welcome you to Chalet Châtelet, our unique, ecologically built home in the French Alps where you can switch off, relax and let us take care of you!

We are an Anglo-French couple who specialise in ‘à la carte’ mountain holidays organised from our catered chalet in the Portes du Soleil ski area (650 km of slopes), which includes the resorts of Les Gets, Avoriaz, Morzine and Châtel in the French Alps and Torgon, Morgins and Champéry in the Swiss Alps. We pay particular attention to the personal requirements of each of our guests and are therefore able to accommodate groups with a combination of levels of skiing, or even with different reasons for being in these magnificent mountains.

When we designed and built our ecological chalet, our aim was to use natural products providing the ideal environment for our guests to enjoy a memorable, stress-free holiday in fabulous surroundings. The high ceilings and large windows of the chalet are an essential feature, giving a bright interior and an incredible feeling of space, reflecting the spectacular, uninterrupted mountain views from each window. All this in a setting of outstanding natural beauty – what could be better!

During the winter season Chalet Châtelet is perfectly positioned between Morzine, Avoriaz and Châtel to give the ambitious skier or snow-boarder a fantastic holiday because our sunny village is at the gateway of the vast Portes du Soleil with its amazing 650 kilometers of slopes in the French and Swiss Alps. We provide you with daily transport to the pistes and can drop you off in one resort and collect you in another, enabling you to ski different pistes continually and make the most of your day. Then you can come back and soak in the new barrel hot tub, like the Pallot and Blampied families!

For those who would like to try something unusual in the winter mountains, we can arrange a snow multi-activity package, so that you can do something different each day, perhaps Nordic skiing, hiking with snow-shoes, paragliding, ice-skating and swimming, even dog sledding. In the summer too we can organize holidays to include exhilarating sports like white water rafting, paragliding, via ferrata and mountain biking. Our close proximity to Lac Léman/Lake Geneva also allows for access to sailing and other water-sports as well as the Masters’ golf course in Evian! Here is the old sailing barge called La Savoie on Lac Léman that used to take stone from the quarry in Meillerie to Geneva.

Of course, the area is excellent for more tranquil activities such as painting, walking, wandering round outdoor markets with their local specialties or going on sight-seeing visits organised by the guides of Le Pays d'Art et d'Histoire. There are beautiful gardens, numerous historical churches and chateaux, even an intact medieval village! We are pleased to take our guests to the beginning of one of the magnificent scenic walks or perhaps to a fabulous landscape for visiting artists. Our Vallée d'Abondance is famous for its gourmet restaurants and non-skiers can easily get to some of the restaurants on the slopes so that you can meet up for lunch with skiers in your party.

In wintertime the snowy mountains are magnificent and we are grateful to be near Avoriaz with its Green Piste philosophy. Avoriaz is one of the resorts that concentrates its efforts to minimise the effects of winter and summer sports on the environment.

In the summer months, Chalet Châtelet is surrounded by Alpine animals and flowers, and so that whatever the season, the mountains provide the perfect backdrop to a peaceful retreat for those who enjoy just ‘to be’ in the mountains surrounded by nature.

There is nowhere more spectacular or more fun in the winter or summertime than this area called Chablais. So just find your way to Geneva Airport or, if you are traveling by car, directly to Chalet Châtelet, and we will look after everything else! Whenever you decide to visit us, we will take great pleasure in welcoming you to our home.
